Camping De Schatberg

Camping De Schatberg is sure to be a hit with all the family thanks to it’s amazing location and fantastic choice of activities. With a natural lagoon on site and acres of forest surrounding the parc, nature is brought to you. However, those looking for a city fix will not be disappointed. Another bonus of Camping De Shatberg is its close proximity to Rotterdam ferry port and Eindhoven airport, making it easily accessible for international travellers. It would be impossible not to be enamoured by this large and lively parc by the end of your stay.

Thanks to the range of on site activities, you can choose the pace of life to suit your family. Whether you’re looking for some time away from the city to get back into nature, or an action packed adventure stay, you will find it here. The natural lagoon on the parc is a beautiful space to spend an afternoon relaxing with the family. Go for a dip in the water, make sandcastles on the shore, or simply sunbathe in the warm summer sun. Why not hire a Pedalo, or have a go at crazy golf. If the crazy golf isn’t enough, take a trip to do the real thing, just 8km from the site.

If that’s not everyone’s cup of tea, be dropped off and the rest of the family can enjoy karting just a little further on. Hire bikes from the parc and take a relaxing cycle out through the forests surrounding the parc before heading back to the indoor pool before dinner. After a day packed with excitement, food is top priority. Enjoy a meal at the wonderful on site restaurant or bring a takeaway back to the accommodation. For late night entertainment why not head to the bar, or settle any competition left over from the day in the games room.

When it comes to accommodation there are two options at this parc. The tent accommodation is ideal for those looking to take camping to the next level of comfort. With beds, sockets and a kitchen it is a real step up from the average tent. Dine alfresco with a home cooked meal thanks to the fridge, gas hob and grill available in the kitchen allowing a range of delicious meals to be prepared. Sleeping 6 the whole group can socialise together, rather than having to cut the night short to return to respective tents.

For a slice of natural luxury, and an accommodation the kids will love, opt for the safari tent. These large canvas tents offer a double room, a twin room, a kitchen and decking area, as well as two pull out beds for the little ones. While relaxing in the last of the day’s sunshine the children can let their imagination wander and find themselves in a safari paradise. The safari tents take glamping to another level featuring decadently decorated bedrooms, while the wooden decking helps to bring the outdoors all the way in to each room.

When looking for places to visit in the local area you will be spoiled for choice. Those looking to uncover the local culture should make a beeline to the city of Eindhoven. The design capital of Holland and the birthplace of the first electric light, there is plenty of history running through it’s streets. For history a little less modern, head to the ancient roman city Venlo. Here you can enjoy a range of exhibitions between taking in the wonder of the market place and busy streets. If you’re looking to extend your natural adventure, make your way to the Dunes of Loon and Drunen, a dessert like no other. Or, spend a day exploring De Maasduinen for exciting wildlife and more shifting sand structures.

Budding zoologists must visit the Beekse Bergen Safari Park. Book a boat ride through the enclosures and spot the big five, all just 45 minutes from the parc. If you just can’t get enough then a trip to Dierenrijk Zoo might help to satisfy the animal interest. Finally, thrill seekers have no need to feel left out at this parc as Toverland is not far away. With rides for all the family, and six different worlds to immerse yourself in, there is something for everybody at the largest theme park in the country.
