Spain is one of the most popular places for British people to holiday especially families with young children and couples. They are attracted by the warm Mediterranean climate and golden sandy beaches with shallow waters.
Holiday parks breaks are a fantastic way to see Spain. Families can stay cheaply for a few weeks and some even go on holiday for up to a month when the kids are off school in the summer.
This is because of the low cost of staying in a mobile home on a holiday park on a self catering basis. And of course once your holiday is paid for nearly everything on the site is included from the amazing swimming pool complexes with water slides to the children’s activity clubs.
In Spain, the Costa Brava and the Costs Dorada are ever popular with shallow shores making them a safe haven for children who want to play on the beach or splash around in the sea. This is after all one of the highlights of a holiday in the sun. There are also some exciting theme parks in the region including Port Aventura in Salou, which makes for a fantastic day out.
One of the most popular holiday parks in Spain is El Delfin Verde on the Costa Dorada. Based near Salou and the Port Aventura Theme Park this is a great choice for families with children of all ages.
The campsite is set around a huge dolphin shaped swimming pool and has loads of activities from tennis to cazy golf. Prices start from around £269 per holiday home for a week including a return crossing by ferry. This holiday park even has an on-park beach so you have the best of both worlds!
Another great place to stay in Spain is the Vilanova Campsite which has some great bonuses. One is that you are within easy reach of the vibrant city of Barcelona, just a short journey away. So you can get out and see some culture combined with the relaxation of staying on a holiday park.
The beach is even closer so you will be spoiled for choice about how to spend your time. And if you just want to stay on the holiday park you won’t be bored either. From Volleyball to golf there are loads of facilities to keep you entertained. There is even a gym for those who like to keep fit.
Alternatively you might like the Playa Joyel Campsite in a different part of Spain to these other two holiday parks. This part of the Cantabrian coastline has miles of gorgeous golden beaches and you can hire a car (or take your own) and drive along the beautiful coast to Pedreña.
This campsite, one mile from Noja, enjoys a breathtaking setting in a nature reserve and has the advantage of direct access to a long sandy beach. The Cantabrian coastline is a surfers paradise and the facilities on this lively site are excellent. This site has loads of activities on offer and a rooftop bar where you can unwind and relax. If you want to explore outside the campsite there are plenty of options.
If you cross by ferry at Pedreña it will take you just 15 minutes to get to Santander with its Royal Summer Palace and gardens. Another option is to visit medieval Santillana, with its cobbled streets and 12th century monastery.
On the whole Spain is a very popular choice for holiday park breaks and it’s easy to see why. If you are looking to take the family away on a holiday that gives you plenty of freedom and fun then a holiday park in Spain could be for you.
