Eurocamp May Half Term: Waterparks And Beaches In The Sun

Long pool with the sea beyond it under a clear blue sky at Park Umag in Croatia
From Saturday 29 May 2027Your first taste of summer

Pack the car on Friday night and by Sunday the kids are racing down a waterslide in the sun. Spend the next morning building sandcastles a few minutes from your front door, then let them wear themselves out in the pools after lunch. When it cools off, you’re out on your own deck with a cold drink and nobody’s mentioned school once. A Eurocamp May half term gives you that first proper taste of summer, weeks before the July rush.

  • Eurocamp’s search: Sat 29 May for 7 nights
  • Spring bank holiday Mon 31 May 2027
  • £99 deposit until 31 January

The short version: by the end of May the big Adriatic parks have been open for weeks and the water parks are coming to life, with Domaine des Ormes listing its aquapark from 22 May. Choose by what your kids want: slides, toddler pools or sand on the doorstep.

Which Eurocamp May half term park suits your family?

Start with the age of your kids. A family holiday with a toddler needs a very different park from one with a ten year old, so we’ve picked a good spread of both, across France, Spain, Italy and Croatia.

Waterparks or toddler pools: what Eurocamp’s labels mean

Eurocamp tags its parks with two handy labels. Epic waterpark means the big slides and pool complexes that older kids head for first. Toddler friendly means shallow pools and small slides for the little ones. Plenty of parks carry both, which is exactly what you want with a wide age gap, because nobody has to sit out while the others have all the fun.

What’s running at the end of May?

More than at Easter, less than in August.

  • Kids’ clubs: several parks in France run them at weekends only in May, including Le Clarys-Plage and La Chapelle.
  • Activities: Eurocamp says some may only run in high season, which it generally means as July and August. Check your accommodation and the park’s own notes when booking.
  • One to watch: La Pinède is on the May list with its waterslides open from 15 May, yet it lists the outdoor pool for July and August only. The indoor pool runs from April to November.

Why a holiday park works so well at half term

A week is long enough for a proper break but short enough that you don’t want to waste it, which is where a holiday park earns its keep, with the pool and the beach a walk from your holiday home. The kids get free run of the place from the first morning.

Driving or flying for half term

With a week to play with, France is an easy drive for a family holiday, since Domaine des Ormes is 27 km from St Malo and Le Clarys-Plage is 257 km. The Adriatic is another matter. Marina di Venezia is 1,408 km from Calais!

Flying makes more sense for the coast of Italy or Croatia. Venice airport is 43 km from Union Lido Mare, while Pula is 79 km from Park Umag. Spain is easier still, with Reus airport just 25 km from Playa Montroig.

May half term questions, answered

When is May half term in 2027?

It usually falls around the Spring bank holiday, which is Monday 31 May 2027.

Is it warm enough to swim?

Expect warm days rather than the heat of August, with the south warmer than Brittany. Eurocamp says a park may still close outdoor pools in poor weather. If swimming matters, pick a park that lists heated pools, such as Playa Montroig or Le Clarys-Plage.

Is there a half term offer from Eurocamp right now?

Its offers page shows no headline half term sale or discount as we write, so treat any offer you see on a voucher site with care. Its May half term page shows a live price for each park, with any reduction marked beside it. The £99 deposit applies if you book by 31 January in the year you travel.

Which parks suit toddlers?

Union Lido Mare has the most toddler slides here, while Marina di Venezia and Park Umag have the most toddler pools.

Which parks are right on the beach?

Marina di Venezia, Union Lido Mare, Park Umag and Playa Montroig all list direct beach access. Le Clarys-Plage is a short walk away, at under a kilometre.

Can we bring the dog?

Marina di Venezia, Union Lido Mare and Playa Montroig don’t allow dogs. The others do, with most limiting you to one dog in selected types of accommodation.
